[ Upstream commit1342b5b23d] If the component driver fails to bind, or is unbound, the driver data for the top-level platform device points to a freed drm_device. If the system is then suspended, the driver passes this dangling pointer to drm_mode_config_helper_suspend(), which crashes. Fix this by only setting the driver data while the platform driver holds a reference to the drm_device. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
