commitcac01bd178upstream. wait_event_interruptible_timeout returns a long The return was being assigned to an int causing an integer overflow when the remaining jiffies > INT_MAX resulting in random error returns. Use a long return value and convert to int ioctl return only on error. When the return value of wait_event_interruptible_timeout was <= INT_MAX the number of remaining jiffies was returned which has no meaning for the user. Return 0 on success. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
