Fabio Estevam 904585504a ARM: dts: imx6qdl-apalis: Fix sgtl5000 detection issue
[ Upstream commit fa51e1dc4b ]

On a custom carrier board with a i.MX6Q Apalis SoM, the sgtl5000 codec
on the SoM is often not detected and the following error message is
seen when the sgtl5000 driver tries to read the ID register:

sgtl5000 1-000a: Error reading chip id -6

The reason for the error is that the MCLK clock is not provided
early enough.

Fix the problem by describing the MCLK pinctrl inside the codec
node instead of placing it inside the audmux pinctrl group.

With this change applied the sgtl5000 is always detected on every boot.

Weitao Wang cb7a795a47 USB: Fix xhci event ring dequeue pointer ERDP update issue
[ Upstream commit e91ac20889 ]

In some situations software handles TRB events slower than adding TRBs.
If the number of TRB events to be processed in a given interrupt is exactly
the same as the event ring size 256, then the local variable
"event_ring_deq" that holds the initial dequeue position is equal to
software_dequeue after handling all 256 interrupts.

It will cause driver to not update ERDP to hardware,

Software dequeue pointer is out of sync with ERDP on interrupt exit.
On the next interrupt, the event ring may full but driver will not
update ERDP as software_dequeue is equal to ERDP.

Chuanhong Guo bf9fe6ecb1 mtd: rawnand: fix ecc parameters for mt7622
[ Upstream commit 9fe4e0d3cb ]

According to the datasheet, mt7622 only has 5 ECC capabilities instead
of 7, and the decoding error register is arranged as follows:
+------+---------+---------+---------+---------+
| Bits |  19:15  |  14:10  |   9:5   |   4:0   |
+------+---------+---------+---------+---------+
| Name | ERRNUM3 | ERRNUM2 | ERRNUM1 | ERRNUM0 |
+------+---------+---------+---------+---------+
This means err_mask should be 0x1f instead of 0x3f and the number of
bits shifted in mtk_ecc_get_stats should be 5 instead of 8.

This commit introduces err_shift for the difference in this register
and fix other existing parameters.

Public MT7622 reference manual can be found on [0] and the info this
commit is based on is from page 656 and page 660.

Mikulas Patocka a4981bed96 hex2bin: fix access beyond string end
commit e4d8a29997 upstream.

If we pass too short string to "hex2bin" (and the string size without
the terminating NUL character is even), "hex2bin" reads one byte after
the terminating NUL character. This patch fixes it.

Note that hex_to_bin returns -1 on error and hex2bin return -EINVAL on
error - so we can't just return the variable "hi" or "lo" on error.
This inconsistency may be fixed in the next merge window, but for the
purpose of fixing this bug, we just preserve the existing behavior and
return -1 and -EINVAL.

Mikulas Patocka 0f509c4428 hex2bin: make the function hex_to_bin constant-time
commit e5be15767e upstream.

The function hex2bin is used to load cryptographic keys into device
mapper targets dm-crypt and dm-integrity. It should take constant time
independent on the processed data, so that concurrently running
unprivileged code can't infer any information about the keys via
microarchitectural convert channels.

This patch changes the function hex_to_bin so that it contains no
branches and no memory accesses.

Note that this shouldn't cause performance degradation because the size
of the new function is the same as the size of the old function (on
x86-64) - and the new function causes no branch misprediction penalties.

I compile-tested this function with gcc on aarch64 alpha arm hppa hppa64

commit 637674fa40 upstream.

The EndRun PTP/1588 dual serial port device is based on the Oxford
Semiconductor OXPCIe952 UART device with the PCI vendor:device ID set
for EndRun Technologies and is therefore driven by a fixed 62.5MHz clock
input derived from the 100MHz PCI Express clock. The clock rate is
divided by the oversampling rate of 16 as it is supplied to the baud
rate generator, yielding the baud base of 3906250.

Replace the incorrect baud base of 4000000 with the right value of

Kees Cook adc12b0b14 USB: serial: whiteheat: fix heap overflow in WHITEHEAT_GET_DTR_RTS
commit e23e50e7ac upstream.

The sizeof(struct whitehat_dr_info) can be 4 bytes under CONFIG_AEABI=n
due to "-mabi=apcs-gnu", even though it has a single u8:

whiteheat_private {
        __u8                       mcr;                  /*     0     1 */

        /* size: 4, cachelines: 1, members: 1 */
        /* padding: 3 */
        /* last cacheline: 4 bytes */
};

The result is technically harmless, as both the source and the
destinations are currently the same allocation size (4 bytes) and don't
use their padding, but if anything were to ever be added after the
"mcr" member in "struct whiteheat_private", it would be overwritten. The
structs both have a single u8 "mcr" member, but are 4 bytes in padded
size. The memcpy() destination was explicitly targeting the u8 member
(size 1) with the length of the whole structure (size 4), triggering
the memcpy buffer overflow warning:

Macpaul Lin fb39a75c34 usb: mtu3: fix USB 3.0 dual-role-switch from device to host
commit 456244aeec upstream.

Issue description:
  When an OTG port has been switched to device role and then switch back
  to host role again, the USB 3.0 Host (XHCI) will not be able to detect
  "plug in event of a connected USB 2.0/1.0 ((Highspeed and Fullspeed)
  devices until system reboot.

Root cause and Solution:
  There is a condition checking flag "ssusb->otg_switch.is_u3_drd" in
  toggle_opstate(). At the end of role switch procedure, toggle_opstate()
  will be called to set DC_SESSION and SOFT_CONN bit. If "is_u3_drd" was
  set and switched the role to USB host 3.0, bit DC_SESSION and SOFT_CONN
  will be skipped hence caused the port cannot detect connected USB 2.0
  (Highspeed and Fullspeed) devices. Simply remove the condition check to
  solve this issue.

Michael Ellerman bf1b11ac0d powerpc/64s: Unmerge EX_LR and EX_DAR
The SLB miss handler is not fully re-entrant, it is able to work because
we ensure that the SLB entries for the kernel text and data segment, as
well as the kernel stack are pinned in the SLB. Accesses to kernel data
outside of those areas has to be carefully managed and can only occur in
certain parts of the code. One way we deal with that is by storing some
values in temporary slots in the paca.

In v4.13 in commit dbeea1d6b4 ("powerpc/64s/paca: EX_LR can be merged
with EX_DAR") we merged the storage for two temporary slots for register
storage during SLB miss handling. That was safe at the time because the
two slots were never used at the same time.

Unfortunately in v4.17 in commit c2b4d8b741 ("powerpc/mm/hash64:
Increase the VA range") we broke that condition, and introduced a case
where the two slots could be in use at the same time, leading to one
being corrupted.

Specifically in slb_miss_common() when we detect that we're handling a
fault for a large virtual address (> 512TB) we go to the "8" label,
there we store the original fault address into paca->exslb[EX_DAR],
before jumping to large_addr_slb() (using rfid).

We then use the EXCEPTION_PROLOG_COMMON and RECONCILE_IRQ_STATE macros
to do exception setup, before reloading the fault address from
paca->exslb[EX_DAR] and storing it into pt_regs->dar (Data Address
Register).

However the code generated by those macros can cause a recursive SLB
miss on a kernel address in three places.

Firstly is the saving of the PPR (Program Priority Register), which
happens on all CPUs since Power7, the PPR is saved to the thread struct
which can be anywhere in memory. There is also the call to
accumulate_stolen_time() if CONFIG_VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING_NATIVE=y and
CONFIG_PPC_SPLPAR=y, and also the call to trace_hardirqs_off() if
CONFIG_TRACE_IRQFLAGS=y. The latter two call into generic C code and can
lead to accesses anywhere in memory.

On modern 64-bit CPUs we have 1TB segments, so for any of those accesses
to cause an SLB fault they must access memory more than 1TB away from
the kernel text, data and kernel stack. That typically only happens on
machines with more than 1TB of RAM. However it is possible on multi-node
Power9 systems, because memory on the 2nd node begins at 32TB in the
linear mapping.

If we take a recursive SLB fault then we will corrupt the original fault
address with the LR (Link Register) value, because the EX_DAR and EX_LR
slots share storage. Subsequently we will think we're trying to fault
that LR address, which is the wrong address, and will also mostly likely
lead to a segfault because the LR address will be < 512TB and so will be
rejected by slb_miss_large_addr().

This appears as a spurious segfault to userspace, and if
show_unhandled_signals is enabled you will see a fault reported in dmesg
with the LR address, not the expected fault address, eg:

  prog[123]: segfault (11) at 128a61808 nip 128a618cc lr 128a61808 code 3 in prog[128a60000+10000]
  prog[123]: code: 4bffffa4 39200040 3ce00004 7d2903a6 3c000200 78e707c6 780083e4 7d3b4b78
  prog[123]: code: 7d455378 7d7d5b78 7d9f6378 7da46b78 <f8670000> 7d3a4b78 7d465378 7d7c5b78

Notice that the fault address == the LR, and the faulting instruction is
a simple store that should never use LR.

In upstream this was fixed in v4.20 in commit
48e7b76957 ("powerpc/64s/hash: Convert SLB miss handlers to C"),
however that is a huge rewrite and not backportable.

The minimal fix for stable is to just unmerge the EX_LR and EX_DAR slots
again, avoiding the corruption of the DAR value. This uses an extra 8
bytes per CPU, which is negligble.

Nicholas Piggin 972fb50cf0 powerpc/64/interrupt: Temporarily save PPR on stack to fix register corruption due to SLB miss
This is a minimal stable kernel fix for the problem solved by
4c2de74cc8 ("powerpc/64: Interrupts save PPR on stack rather than
thread_struct").

Upstream kernels between 4.17-4.20 have this bug, so I propose this
patch for 4.19 stable.

Longer description from mpe:

In commit f384796c4 ("powerpc/mm: Add support for handling > 512TB
address in SLB miss") we added support for using multiple context ids
per process. Previously accessing past the first context id was a fatal
error for the process. With the new support it became non-fatal, and so
the previous "bad_addr_slb" handler was changed to be the
"large_addr_slb" handler.

That handler uses the EXCEPTION_PROLOG_COMMON() macro, which in-turn
calls the SAVE_PPR() macro. At the point where SAVE_PPR() is used, the
r9-13 register values from the original user fault are saved in
paca->exslb. It's not until later in EXCEPTION_PROLOG_COMMON_2() that
they are saved from paca->exslb onto the kernel stack.

The PPR is saved into current->thread.ppr, which is notably not on the
kernel stack the way pt_regs are. This means we can take an SLB miss on
current->thread.ppr. If that happens in the "large_addr_slb" case we
will clobber the saved user r9-r13 in paca->exslb with kernel values.
Later we will save those clobbered values into the pt_regs on the stack,
and when we return to userspace those kernel values will be restored.

Typically this appears as some sort of segfault in userspace, with an
address that looks like a kernel address. In dmesg it can appear as:

  [19117.440331] some_program[1869625]: unhandled signal 11 at c00000000f6bda10 nip 00007fff780d559c lr 00007fff781ae56c code 30001

The upstream fix for this issue was to move PPR into pt_regs, on the
kernel stack, avoiding the possibility of an SLB fault when saving it.

However changing the size of pt_regs is an intrusive change, and has
side effects in other parts of the kernel. A minimal fix is to
temporarily save the PPR in an unused part of pt_regs, then save the
user register values from paca->exslb into pt_regs, and then move the
saved PPR into thread.ppr.

Eric Dumazet 75b0cc7904 net/sched: cls_u32: fix netns refcount changes in u32_change()
commit 3db09e762d upstream.

We are now able to detect extra put_net() at the moment
they happen, instead of much later in correct code paths.

u32_init_knode() / tcf_exts_init() populates the ->exts.net
pointer, but as mentioned in tcf_exts_init(),
the refcount on netns has not been elevated yet.

The refcount is taken only once tcf_exts_get_net()
is called.

So the two u32_destroy_key() calls from u32_change()
are attempting to release an invalid reference on the netns.

Lin Ma 3befa9b67f hamradio: remove needs_free_netdev to avoid UAF
commit 81b1d548d0 upstream.

The former patch "defer 6pack kfree after unregister_netdev" reorders
the kfree of two buffer after the unregister_netdev to prevent the race
condition. It also adds free_netdev() function in sixpack_close(), which
is a direct copy from the similar code in mkiss_close().

However, in sixpack driver, the flag needs_free_netdev is set to true in
sp_setup(), hence the unregister_netdev() will free the netdev
automatically. Therefore, as the sp is netdev_priv, use-after-free
occurs.

This patch removes the needs_free_netdev = true and just let the
free_netdev to finish this deallocation task.

Lin Ma 9d2a1b180f hamradio: defer 6pack kfree after unregister_netdev
commit 0b9111922b upstream.

There is a possible race condition (use-after-free) like below

 (USE)                       |  (FREE)
  dev_queue_xmit             |
   __dev_queue_xmit          |

        __netdev_start_xmit  |  6pack_close
         sp_xmit             |   kfree
          sp_encaps          |
                             |

According to the patch "defer ax25 kfree after unregister_netdev", this
patch reorder the kfree after the unregister_netdev to avoid the possible
UAF as the unregister_netdev() is well synchronized and won't return if
there is a running routine.

Willy Tarreau 0e53597677 floppy: disable FDRAWCMD by default
commit 233087ca06 upstream.

Minh Yuan reported a concurrency use-after-free issue in the floppy code
between raw_cmd_ioctl and seek_interrupt.

[ It turns out this has been around, and that others have reported the
  KASAN splats over the years, but Minh Yuan had a reproducer for it and
  so gets primary credit for reporting it for this fix - Linus ]

The problem is, this driver tends to break very easily and nowadays,
nobody is expected to use FDRAWCMD anyway since it was used to
manipulate non-standard formats. The risk of breaking the driver is
higher than the risk presented by this race, and accessing the device
requires privileges anyway.

Let's just add a config option to completely disable this ioctl and
leave it disabled by default. Distros shouldn't use it, and only those
running on antique hardware might need to enable it.

Duoming Zhou 3082f32c45 ax25: Fix UAF bugs in ax25 timers
commit 82e31755e5 upstream.

There are race conditions that may lead to UAF bugs in
ax25_heartbeat_expiry(), ax25_t1timer_expiry(), ax25_t2timer_expiry(),
ax25_t3timer_expiry() and ax25_idletimer_expiry(), when we call
ax25_release() to deallocate ax25_dev.

One of the UAF bugs caused by ax25_release() is shown below:

      (Thread 1)                    |      (Thread 2)
ax25_dev_device_up() //(1)          |
...                                 | ax25_kill_by_device()
ax25_bind()          //(2)          |
ax25_connect()                      | ...
 ax25_std_establish_data_link()     |
  ax25_start_t1timer()              | ax25_dev_device_down() //(3)
   mod_timer(&ax25->t1timer,..)     |
                                    | ax25_release()
   (wait a time)                    |  ...
                                    |  ax25_dev_put(ax25_dev) //(4)FREE
   ax25_t1timer_expiry()            |
    ax25->ax25_dev->values[..] //USE|  ...
     ...                            |

We increase the refcount of ax25_dev in position (1) and (2), and
decrease the refcount of ax25_dev in position (3) and (4).
The ax25_dev will be freed in position (4) and be used in
ax25_t1timer_expiry().

Duoming Zhou 512f09df26 ax25: Fix NULL pointer dereferences in ax25 timers
commit fc6d01ff9e upstream.

The previous commit 7ec02f5ac8 ("ax25: fix NPD bug in ax25_disconnect")
move ax25_disconnect into lock_sock() in order to prevent NPD bugs. But
there are race conditions that may lead to null pointer dereferences in
ax25_heartbeat_expiry(), ax25_t1timer_expiry(), ax25_t2timer_expiry(),
ax25_t3timer_expiry() and ax25_idletimer_expiry(), when we use
ax25_kill_by_device() to detach the ax25 device.

One of the race conditions that cause null pointer dereferences can be
shown as below:

      (Thread 1)                    |      (Thread 2)
ax25_connect()                      |
 ax25_std_establish_data_link()     |
  ax25_start_t1timer()              |
   mod_timer(&ax25->t1timer,..)     |
                                    | ax25_kill_by_device()
   (wait a time)                    |  ...
                                    |  s->ax25_dev = NULL; //(1)
   ax25_t1timer_expiry()            |
    ax25->ax25_dev->values[..] //(2)|  ...
     ...                            |

We set null to ax25_cb->ax25_dev in position (1) and dereference
the null pointer in position (2).

The corresponding fail log is shown below:
===============================================================
BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000050

This patch moves ax25_disconnect() before s->ax25_dev = NULL
and uses del_timer_sync() to delete timers in ax25_disconnect().
If ax25_disconnect() is called by ax25_kill_by_device() or
ax25->ax25_dev is NULL, the reason in ax25_disconnect() will be
equal to ENETUNREACH, it will wait all timers to stop before we
set null to s->ax25_dev in ax25_kill_by_device().

Duoming Zhou cb18d72179 ax25: fix NPD bug in ax25_disconnect
commit 7ec02f5ac8 upstream.

The ax25_disconnect() in ax25_kill_by_device() is not
protected by any locks, thus there is a race condition
between ax25_disconnect() and ax25_destroy_socket().
when ax25->sk is assigned as NULL by ax25_destroy_socket(),
a NULL pointer dereference bug will occur if site (1) or (2)
dereferences ax25->sk.

ax25_kill_by_device()                | ax25_release()
  ax25_disconnect()                  |   ax25_destroy_socket()
    ...                              |
    if(ax25->sk != NULL)             |     ...
      ...                            |     ax25->sk = NULL;

      ...                            |

Duoming Zhou de55a1338e ax25: Fix refcount leaks caused by ax25_cb_del()
commit 9fd75b66b8 upstream.

The previous commit d01ffb9eee ("ax25: add refcount in ax25_dev to
avoid UAF bugs") and commit feef318c85 ("ax25: fix UAF bugs of
net_device caused by rebinding operation") increase the refcounts of
ax25_dev and net_device in ax25_bind() and decrease the matching refcounts
in ax25_kill_by_device() in order to prevent UAF bugs, but there are
reference count leaks.

The root cause of refcount leaks is shown below:

     (Thread 1)                      |      (Thread 2)
ax25_bind()                          |
 ...                                 |
 ax25_addr_ax25dev()                 |
  ax25_dev_hold()   //(1)            |
  ...                                |
 dev_hold_track()   //(2)            |
 ...                                 | ax25_destroy_socket()
                                     |  ax25_cb_del()
                                     |   ...
                                     |   hlist_del_init() //(3)
                                     |
                                     |
     (Thread 3)                      |
ax25_kill_by_device()                |
 ...                                 |
 ax25_for_each(s, &ax25_list) {      |
  if (s->ax25_dev == ax25_dev) //(4) |
   ...                               |

Firstly, we use ax25_bind() to increase the refcount of ax25_dev in
position (1) and increase the refcount of net_device in position (2).
Then, we use ax25_cb_del() invoked by ax25_destroy_socket() to delete
ax25_cb in hlist in position (3) before calling ax25_kill_by_device().
Finally, the decrements of refcounts in ax25_kill_by_device() will not
be executed, because no s->ax25_dev equals to ax25_dev in position (4).

This patch adds decrements of refcounts in ax25_release() and use
lock_sock() to do synchronization. If refcounts decrease in ax25_release(),
the decrements of refcounts in ax25_kill_by_device() will not be
executed and vice versa.

Duoming Zhou b1e0a6fc7f ax25: fix UAF bugs of net_device caused by rebinding operation
commit feef318c85 upstream.

The ax25_kill_by_device() will set s->ax25_dev = NULL and
call ax25_disconnect() to change states of ax25_cb and
sock, if we call ax25_bind() before ax25_kill_by_device().

However, if we call ax25_bind() again between the window of
ax25_kill_by_device() and ax25_dev_device_down(), the values
and states changed by ax25_kill_by_device() will be reassigned.

Finally, ax25_dev_device_down() will deallocate net_device.
If we dereference net_device in syscall functions such as
ax25_release(), ax25_sendmsg(), ax25_getsockopt(), ax25_getname()
and ax25_info_show(), a UAF bug will occur.

One of the possible race conditions is shown below:

      (USE)                   |      (FREE)
ax25_bind()                   |
                              |  ax25_kill_by_device()
ax25_bind()                   |
ax25_connect()                |    ...
                              |  ax25_dev_device_down()
                              |    ...
                              |    dev_put_track(dev, ...) //FREE
ax25_release()                |    ...
  ax25_send_control()         |
    alloc_skb()      //USE    |

the corresponding fail log is shown below:

this patch adds dev_hold_track() into ax25_bind() and
corresponding dev_put_track() into ax25_kill_by_device().

Duoming Zhou a518be5772 ax25: fix reference count leaks of ax25_dev
commit 87563a043c upstream.

The previous commit d01ffb9eee ("ax25: add refcount in ax25_dev
to avoid UAF bugs") introduces refcount into ax25_dev, but there
are reference leak paths in ax25_ctl_ioctl(), ax25_fwd_ioctl(),
ax25_rt_add(), ax25_rt_del() and ax25_rt_opt().

This patch uses ax25_dev_put() and adjusts the position of
ax25_addr_ax25dev() to fix reference cout leaks of ax25_dev.

Duoming Zhou e2b558fe50 ax25: add refcount in ax25_dev to avoid UAF bugs
commit d01ffb9eee upstream.

If we dereference ax25_dev after we call kfree(ax25_dev) in
ax25_dev_device_down(), it will lead to concurrency UAF bugs.
There are eight syscall functions suffer from UAF bugs, include
ax25_bind(), ax25_release(), ax25_connect(), ax25_ioctl(),
ax25_getname(), ax25_sendmsg(), ax25_getsockopt() and
ax25_info_show().

One of the concurrency UAF can be shown as below:

  (USE)                       |    (FREE)
                              |  ax25_device_event
                              |    ax25_dev_device_down
ax25_bind                     |    ...
  ...                         |      kfree(ax25_dev)
  ax25_fillin_cb()            |    ...
    ax25_fillin_cb_from_dev() |
  ...                         |

The root cause of UAF bugs is that kfree(ax25_dev) in
ax25_dev_device_down() is not protected by any locks.
When ax25_dev, which there are still pointers point to,
is released, the concurrency UAF bug will happen.

This patch introduces refcount into ax25_dev in order to
guarantee that there are no pointers point to it when ax25_dev
is released.

Khazhismel Kumykov ace51abe0f block/compat_ioctl: fix range check in BLKGETSIZE
commit ccf16413e5 upstream.

kernel ulong and compat_ulong_t may not be same width. Use type directly

This would result in truncation rather than EFBIG for 32bit mode for
