Eryu noticed that he could sometimes get a leftover error reported when it shouldn't be on fsync with ext2 and non-journalled ext4. The problem is that writeback_single_inode still uses filemap_fdatawait. That picks up a previously set AS_EIO flag, which would ordinarily have been cleared before. Since we're mostly using this function as a replacement for filemap_check_errors, have filemap_check_and_advance_wb_err clear AS_EIO and AS_ENOSPC when reporting an error. That should allow the new function to better emulate the behavior of the old with respect to these flags. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
