Mark Brown 451ce2521c kselftest/arm64: Fix validatation termination record after EXTRA_CONTEXT
[ Upstream commit 5c152c2f66 ]

When arm64 signal context data overflows the base struct sigcontext it gets
placed in an extra buffer pointed to by a record of type EXTRA_CONTEXT in
the base struct sigcontext which is required to be the last record in the
base struct sigframe. The current validation code attempts to check this
by using GET_RESV_NEXT_HEAD() to step forward from the current record to
the next but that is a macro which assumes it is being provided with a
struct _aarch64_ctx and uses the size there to skip forward to the next
record. Instead validate_extra_context() passes it a struct extra_context
which has a separate size field. This compiles but results in us trying
to validate a termination record in completely the wrong place, at best
failing validation and at worst just segfaulting. Fix this by passing
the struct _aarch64_ctx we meant to into the macro.

Cristian Marussi 3aa50241e1 kselftest/arm64: signal: Skip tests if required features are missing
[ Upstream commit 0e3dbf765f ]

During initialization of a signal testcase, features declared as required
are properly checked against the running system but no action is then taken
to effectively skip such a testcase.

Fix core signals test logic to abort initialization and report such a
testcase as skipped to the KSelfTest framework.

[ Upstream commit 0c69bd2ca6 ]

The PAC tests check to see if the system supports the relevant PAC features
but instead of skipping the tests if they can't be executed they fail the
tests which makes things look like they're not working when they are.

Mark Brown 9486d7ac9f kselftest/arm64: mte: Fix misleading output when skipping tests
[ Upstream commit 83e5dcbece ]

When skipping the tests due to a lack of system support for MTE we
currently print a message saying FAIL which makes it look like the test
failed even though the test did actually report KSFT_SKIP, creating some
confusion. Change the error message to say SKIP instead so things are
clearer.

to test, we use an (emulated) CPU ID register read. However we only
check against a very particular feature version (0b0010), even though
the ARM ARM promises ID register features to be backwards compatible.

While this could be fixed by using ">=" instead of "==", we should
actually use the explicit HWCAP2_MTE hardware capability, exposed by the
kernel via the ELF auxiliary vectors.

That moves this responsibility to the kernel, and fixes running the
tests on machines with FEAT_MTE3 capability.

Andre Przywara d9a1f62b03 kselftest/arm64: mte: Fix compilation with native compiler
[ Upstream commit 4a423645bc ]

The mte selftest Makefile contains a check for GCC, to add the memtag
-march flag to the compiler options. This check fails if the compiler
is not explicitly specified, so reverts to the standard "cc", in which
case --version doesn't mention the "gcc" string we match against:
$ cc --version | head -n 1
cc (Ubuntu 9.3.0-17ubuntu1~20.04) 9.3.0

This will not add the -march switch to the command line, so compilation
fails:
mte_helper.S: Assembler messages:
mte_helper.S:25: Error: selected processor does not support `irg x0,x0,xzr'
mte_helper.S:38: Error: selected processor does not support `gmi x1,x0,xzr'
...

Actually clang accepts the same -march option as well, so we can just
drop this check and add this unconditionally to the command line, to avoid
any future issues with this check altogether (gcc actually prints
basename(argv[0]) when called with --version).

Andre Przywara 6deb9d9a84 kselftest/arm64: sve: Do not use non-canonical FFR register value
[ Upstream commit 7011d72588 ]

The "First Fault Register" (FFR) is an SVE register that mimics a
predicate register, but clears bits when a load or store fails to handle
an element of a vector. The supposed usage scenario is to initialise
this register (using SETFFR), then *read* it later on to learn about
elements that failed to load or store. Explicit writes to this register
using the WRFFR instruction are only supposed to *restore* values
previously read from the register (for context-switching only).
As the manual describes, this register holds only certain values, it:
"... contains a monotonic predicate value, in which starting from bit 0
there are zero or more 1 bits, followed only by 0 bits in any remaining
bit positions."
Any other value is UNPREDICTABLE and is not supposed to be "restored"
into the register.

The SVE test currently tries to write a signature pattern into the
register, which is *not* a canonical FFR value. Apparently the existing
setups treat UNPREDICTABLE as "read-as-written", but a new
implementation actually only stores canonical values. As a consequence,
the sve-test fails immediately when comparing the FFR value:
-----------
 # ./sve-test
Vector length: 128 bits
PID: 207
Mismatch: PID=207, iteration=0, reg=48
        Expected [cf00]
        Got [0f00]
Aborted
-----------

Fix this by only populating the FFR with proper canonical values.
Effectively the requirement described above limits us to 17 unique
values over 16 bits worth of FFR, so we condense our signature down to 4
bits (2 bits from the PID, 2 bits from the generation) and generate the
canonical pattern from it. Any bits describing elements above the
minimum 128 bit are set to 0.

This aligns the FFR usage to the architecture and fixes the test on
microarchitectures implementing FFR in a more restricted way.

[ Upstream commit 29f0808816 ]

This test is specific to MTE and verifies that the GCR_EL1 register is
context switched correctly.

It spawns 1024 processes and each process spawns 5 threads. Each thread
writes a random setting of GCR_EL1 through the prctl() system call and
reads it back verifying that it is the same. If the values are not the
same it reports a failure.

Note: The test has been extended to verify that even SYNC and ASYNC mode
setting is preserved correctly over context switching.

Amit Daniel Kachhap 4dafc08d0b kselftest/arm64: Check mte tagged user address in kernel
Add a testcase to check that user address with valid/invalid
mte tag works in kernel mode. This test verifies that the kernel
API's __arch_copy_from_user/__arch_copy_to_user works by considering
if the user pointer has valid/invalid allocation tags.

In MTE sync mode, file memory read/write and other similar interfaces
fails if a user memory with invalid tag is accessed in kernel. In async
mode no such failure occurs.

Amit Daniel Kachhap e9b60476be kselftest/arm64: Add utilities and a test to validate mte memory
This test checks that the memory tag is present after mte allocation and
the memory is accessible with those tags. This testcase verifies all
sync, async and none mte error reporting mode. The allocated mte buffers
are verified for Allocated range (no error expected while accessing
buffer), Underflow range, and Overflow range.

Different test scenarios covered here are,
* Verify that mte memory are accessible at byte/block level.
* Force underflow and overflow to occur and check the data consistency.
* Check to/from between tagged and untagged memory.
* Check that initial allocated memory to have 0 tag.

This change also creates the necessary infrastructure to add mte test
cases. MTE kselftests can use the several utility functions provided here
to add wide variety of mte test scenarios.

GCC compiler need flag '-march=armv8.5-a+memtag' so those flags are
verified before compilation.

The mte testcases can be launched with kselftest framework as,

make TARGETS=arm64 ARM64_SUBTARGETS=mte kselftest

or compiled as,

make -C tools/testing/selftests TARGETS=arm64 ARM64_SUBTARGETS=mte CC='compiler'

Boyan Karatotev e74e1d5572 kselftests/arm64: add a basic Pointer Authentication test
PAuth signs and verifies return addresses on the stack. It does so by
inserting a Pointer Authentication code (PAC) into some of the unused top
bits of an address. This is achieved by adding paciasp/autiasp instructions
at the beginning and end of a function.

This feature is partially backwards compatible with earlier versions of the
ARM architecture. To coerce the compiler into emitting fully backwards
compatible code the main file is compiled to target an earlier ARM version.
This allows the tests to check for the feature and print meaningful error
messages instead of crashing.

Add a test to verify that corrupting the return address results in a
SIGSEGV on return.

Cristian Marussi 6c2aa42845 kselftest: arm64: fake_sigreturn_bad_magic
Add a simple fake_sigreturn testcase which builds a ucontext_t with a bad
magic header and place it onto the stack. Expects a SIGSEGV on test PASS.

Introduce a common utility assembly trampoline function to invoke a
sigreturn while placing the provided sigframe at wanted alignment and
also an helper to make space when needed inside the sigframe reserved

Cristian Marussi 837387a2cb kselftest: arm64: extend test_init functionalities
Extend signal testing framework to allow the definition of a custom per
test initialization function to be run at the end of the common test_init
after test setup phase has completed and before test-run routine.

This custom per-test initialization function also enables the test writer
to decide on its own when forcibly skip the test itself using standard KSFT
mechanism.
