BU18TL82-M supports MIPI DSI and LVDS data
transmission by ROHM's original CDR (Clock Data
Recovery) technology. This chip is the serial interface
transmitter IC of the Clockless Link-BD series.
BU18TL82-M converts the MIPI DSI and LVDS data
stream into Clockless Link format transmit through 2
pairs of differential wires.
BU18RL82-M supports LVDS data transmission by
ROHM's original CDR (Clock Data Recovery) technology.
This chip is serial interface receiver IC of the Clockless
Link-BD series.
BU18RL82-M converts Clockless link stream into a
LVDS format, and transmits through one or two ports of
LVDS.
Flexible Input / Output mode is suitable for a variety of
application interface.

RK1000 is a digital-analog mixed chip which has tve output function.
RK1000's registers can be written and read through I2C interaface.
Because RK1000's I2C need dclk and mclk, RK1000 TVE should be registered
after RK1000 CORE.

Add a new DRM bridge driver for Cadence MHDP8546 DPTX IP used in TI J721E
SoC. MHDP DPTX IP is the component that complies with VESA DisplayPort (DP)
and embedded Display Port (eDP) standards. It integrates uCPU running the
embedded Firmware (FW) interfaced over APB interface.
Basically, it takes a DPI stream as input and outputs it encoded in DP
format. Currently, it supports only SST mode.

Since commit 84af7a6194 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over
'---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been gradually
decreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances.
This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines,
I also fixed the indentation.
There are a variety of indentation styles found.
a) 4 spaces + '---help---'
b) 7 spaces + '---help---'
c) 8 spaces + '---help---'
d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---'
e) 1 tab + '---help---' (correct indentation)
f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---'
g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---'
In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the
following commend:

This is a driver for video encoder with VGA and DVI/HDMI outputs.
There is no documentation for the chip -- the operation was guessed from
what was sniffed on a Dell Wyse 3020 ThinOS terminal, the register names
come from the ch7035 driver in Mediatek's GPL code dump.
Only bare minimum is implemented -- no fancy stuff, such as scaling. That
would only worsen our misery. We don't load the firmware and we don't need
to even bother enabling the MCU. There are probably no distributable
firmware images anyway.
Tested with a handful of monitors ranging from 1024x768@75 to 1400x1050@60,
with VGA as well as DVI.

commit d6abe6df70 ("drm/bridge: sil_sii8620: do not have a dependency
of RC_CORE") changed the driver to select both RC_CORE and INPUT.
However, this causes problems with other drivers, in particular an input

According to the docs and general consensus, select should only be used
for non user-visible symbols, but both RC_CORE and INPUT are
user-visible. Furthermore almost all other references to INPUT
throughout the kernel config are depends, not selects. For this reason
the first part of this change reverts the commit.
In order to address the original reason for the commit, namely
that not all boards use the remote controller functionality and hence
should not need have to deal with RC_CORE, the second part of this
change now makes the remote control support in the driver optional and
contingent on RC_CORE being defined. And with this the hard dependency
on INPUT also goes away as that is only needed if RC_CORE is defined
(which in turn already depends on INPUT).

We have two *_CLASS_DEVICE kernel config options (LCD_CLASS_DEVICE
and BACKLIGHT_LCD_DEVICE) that do the same job.
The patch removes useless BACKLIGHT_LCD_SUPPORT option
and converts LCD_CLASS_DEVICE into a menu.

Quite obviously the driver depends on DRM_MIPI_DSI.
We can not use depends since the driver configuration uses select,
so we'll have to select the missing dependency instead.

Add support for TI's sn65dsi86 dsi2edp bridge chip.
The chip converts DSI transmitted signal to eDP signal,
which is fed to the connected eDP panel.
This chip can be controlled via either i2c interface or
dsi interface. Currently in driver all the control registers
are being accessed through i2c interface only.
Also as of now HPD support has not been added to bridge
chip driver.

This patch makes RC_CORE to be selected with this driver.
sil_sii8620 driver calls remote controller interfaces directly
so RC_CORE should be enabled mandatorily.
And some boards not using remote controller device don't really
need to know that RC_CORE config should be enabled to use sil_sii8620
driver only for HDMI.

Add a driver for Cadence DPI -> DSI bridge.
This driver only support a subset of Cadence DSI bridge capabilities.
This driver has been tested/debugged in a simulated environment which
explains why some of the features are missing. Here is a
non-exhaustive list of missing features:
* burst mode
* DPHY init/configuration steps
* support for additional input interfaces (SDI input)
DSI commands and non-burst video mode have been tested.
